Adolescent and Young Adult psychotherapy

Welcome! I’m Dr. Taylor Kurtz, a licensed psychologist in lower Fairfield County, Connecticut, dedicated to helping teens and young adults navigate life’s challenges by understanding how their emotions impact behavior and learning effective strategies to manage them through individual therapy. As a lifelong athlete, sports enthusiast and with experience in coaching children, I know, firsthand, the value of a supportive, empathetic and encouraging adult in the life of an athlete. I strive to encourage and support adolescents and young adults see the value in movement and their passion for competition. I believe that emotional well-being is foundational to personal growth and success, and my goal is to help my clients discover their best selves while developing healthy coping skills to thrive in all areas of life.

With a particular focus on high-performing athletes, I have a deep passion for supporting those who experience performance anxiety and need guidance in strengthening their mental game. Whether it’s managing pre-game nerves, overcoming self-doubt, or optimizing focus, I work alongside athletes to boost their mental resilience, increase self-esteem, and enhance their confidence both on and off the field.

My experience spans a variety of concerns, from anxiety, depression, and mood disorders to supporting neurodiverse individuals in navigating the unique challenges they face. By helping clients build self-worth and develop a deeper sense of self-acceptance, I work to foster lasting confidence while utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and a multimodal approach.

Together, we’ll explore your emotions, develop new perspectives, and build the tools you need to handle life’s obstacles with confidence and clarity. I’m here to help you prioritize your well-being, improve your mental health, and reach your full potential. Currently all of my treatment is being provided through telehealth.
